The outer paper or decorative layer creates the visual and tactile experience. The internal barrier and sealing layers perform different functions, helping control exposure to moisture, oxygen and, where required, light.

We select the complete construction according to your product, filling process and target shelf life. A paper appearance alone does not establish the bag’s barrier performance or end-of-life properties.

• Different products require different levels of protection. A delicate loose-leaf tea, an herbal blend and freshly roasted drip coffee should not automatically use the same packaging specification.

  Aluminum Foil Barrier Options

  Aluminum foil laminates can be evaluated for products requiring strong protection from moisture, oxygen and light. They are an option for aroma-sensitive tea and coffee applications where an opaque structure is suitable.

  The final specification also considers seal quality, handling and the selected paper or exterior finish.

  Metallized Film Options

  Metallized films offer another material route for selected applications. They differ from aluminum foil and should be compared using the relevant technical data rather than appearance alone.

  Availability depends on the selected material and printing process. Exposed paper, film-covered paper and paper-look film have different surface characteristics, so we recommend reviewing finish samples before approval.

Loose-Leaf Tea Portions

Create individual sachets for tasting collections, hospitality service or measured tea portions. Dimensions can be selected according to the volume and shape of the leaves, including blends that need additional space to avoid excessive compression.

Individually Wrapped Tea Filters

Use a protective outer sachet around a filled tea filter. The outer bag can carry your logo, blend name and brewing instructions while separating the filter from the surrounding environment.

Confirm the filter dimensions, tag and string arrangement before finalizing the outer sachet size.

Specialty Drip Coffee

Develop custom outer sachets for ear-hook drip coffee filters or suitable UFO-style filter formats.

The sachet should be sized around the filled filter and its folded components, with sufficient room for insertion and reliable sealing. Material selection also takes account of your filling process and intended storage conditions.

Herbal and Botanical Collections

Coordinate individual sachets for herbal blends, dried flowers and related products. Different ingredients may have different moisture and aroma protection requirements, even within the same collection.

Premade Outer Sachets

Premade sachets are supplied with an opening for inserting your filled filter or product. After filling, the remaining opening is heat-sealed using equipment and settings suitable for the material.

This option can suit manual or semi-automatic packing operations, sample programs and smaller production runs.

Printed Rollstock

For customers using automatic packaging equipment, we can discuss printed rollstock matched to the machine’s requirements.

Please provide the film width, print repeat, roll specifications, winding direction and sealing configuration. Compatibility should be confirmed through the relevant specifications and trials.

Filters, Sachets and Boxes from One Packaging Partner

Developing a complete tea or drip coffee collection often involves several packaging components. Cailyn can coordinate them within one project.

Starting with the complete set helps align the inner filter, outer sachet and box dimensions before production.

Working with one packaging partner can also simplify artwork communication, sampling and order coordination. Where practical, components can be packed and shipped together, with freight assessed for the final order.

Is this a brewable tea bag or an outer packaging bag?

This product focuses on protective outer sachets. Brewable tea filters and drip coffee filters are separate components that Cailyn can supply as part of a coordinated packaging set.

Can the same outer sachet be used for tea and drip coffee?

Sometimes, but the dimensions and material requirements should be checked for each product. A filled coffee filter and loose-leaf tea portion may require different space, protection and filling arrangements.

Does a paper exterior make the sachet recyclable or compostable?

Not automatically. The complete construction—including films, coatings, adhesives and printing—must be considered. End-of-life claims should match the finished specification and applicable collection or treatment conditions.

Can you guarantee a specific shelf life?

A target shelf life helps guide material selection, but it should be validated with your product and filling process. We do not assign one shelf-life guarantee to every tea and coffee application.

Can you match the sachets to our retail box design?

Yes. We can coordinate artwork across sachets, cartons and gift boxes. Color and finish may vary between substrates, so samples are useful when close visual consistency is required.

Can you support automatic packing?

Printed rollstock can be evaluated for your equipment. Please share the machine requirements so the film and sealing specification can be reviewed.

What should I send for a quotation?

Please provide the product type, filling weight, filter dimensions if applicable, preferred sachet size, quantity, number of designs and destination market. Let us know whether you also need filters, cartons or gift boxes.
